Sixteen years of marriage between surgeon Paul and weather reporter Julia have taken their toll. Passion has been replaced byroutine and monotony. They look at their still-flirty best friends Vanessa and surgeon Marc with envy. While Paul somehow seems still satisfied, Julia is frustrated. Vanessa tells her the secret of her and Marc’s relationship: they have been meeting other couples to exchange partners, and that has had an incredible effect on their relationship. Julia wants to try this herself, but Paul is not at all excited about it. Finally, he gives in to Juliet’s urge and settles for a “trial run” with Marc and Vanessa.
